Terms of Service
Last updated: 11 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the dopa application ("the app") and the dopadigital.org website ("the website"), operated by Dopa Digital Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"). By using dopa, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or website.
The service
dopa is a wellness application that restricts access to selected apps on your iOS device until a daily step goal is achieved. The app uses Apple's HealthKit framework to read step data and Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls) to manage app restrictions.
dopa also provides social features including friend connections, shared moments, and challenges that allow you to interact with other users.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use dopa. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Accounts
To use dopa you must sign in with your Apple or Google account. This creates your dopa account and enables cloud features such as data persistence, backup, cross-device syncing, and social functionality. We receive your name and email address from the sign-in provider you choose, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account access, and for all activity that occurs under your account. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised access to your account.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for setting a step goal that is appropriate for your health and fitness level. dopa is a habit-building tool, not medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional before beginning any new exercise routine.
User content and social features
dopa allows you to share moments (photos and captions), set a profile name and photo, and connect with friends. By sharing content on dopa, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content within the app to other users in accordance with your visibility settings.
You are solely responsible for the content you share. You agree not to post content that:
- Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- Infringes on the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
- Contains spam, advertising, or unsolicited promotions.
- Impersonates another person or entity.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly breach them, without prior notice.
Community standards and moderation
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on dopa. Objectionable content includes, without limitation, content that is sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, threatening, violent, defamatory, or otherwise offensive, and any content that is unlawful.
dopa provides tools to keep the community safe:
- Report — you can report any moment or user you believe breaches these terms, directly in the app.
- Block — you can block any user, which hides their content from you and removes the connection between you.
We review reported content and act on legitimate reports — including removing content and ejecting the users responsible — promptly, and generally within 24 hours. Content that is reported by multiple users may be hidden automatically pending review. You can also report content or conduct to us at hello@dopadigital.org.
Unlawful content
You must not use dopa to share content that is illegal under the laws of the United Kingdom or any jurisdiction that applies to you. We will remove illegal content that we become aware of and, where required, cooperate with law enforcement and regulators. If you encounter illegal content on dopa, please report it in the app or email hello@dopadigital.org.
Subscriptions
dopa offers a premium subscription (dopa+) with additional features. Subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual basis.
- All subscriptions are managed through Apple's in-app purchase system and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions.
- Subscription prices are displayed in the app before purchase. Prices may vary by region.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except where required by applicable law.
Apple App Store
dopa is licensed to you, not sold. Your licence is subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula), together with these terms. Where there is a conflict, Apple's standard EULA governs the licence to use the app.
You acknowledge that this agreement is between you and Dopa Digital Ltd. only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Dopa Digital Ltd., not Apple, is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support, and for addressing any claims relating to the app (including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and intellectual property claims). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
Privacy
Your use of dopa is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Please read it carefully.
Intellectual property
The dopa name, logo, design, and all associated content are the property of Dopa Digital Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the dopa brand or application without written permission.
Disclaimer
dopa is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to ensure the app functions reliably, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
App blocking depends on Apple's Screen Time framework, which may be subject to system-level changes or limitations beyond our control. dopa is not responsible for any consequences arising from apps being blocked or unblocked, including missed notifications or communications.
Social features depend on network connectivity and third-party infrastructure (Google Firebase). We do not guarantee the availability or permanence of user-generated content.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dopa Digital Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the application, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.
Termination
You may stop using dopa at any time by deleting the app from your device. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at hello@dopadigital.org.
We may suspend or terminate your access to dopa if you violate these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of dopa after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If we make significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the app or via email.
Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
